5-blogs-and-5-bloggers

Hah, if you thought chains were limited to facebook and email… think again.

I was tagged by a certain someone, and after deciding whether I was actually going to this, I decided that in order not to be rude I’ll play along. BUT I’m not going to spread the chain by reposting it. If this is confusing to you that means you’re not versed in internet-speak, which is a good thing. Trust me.

Anyway, how this works is that I’m supposed to list 5 non-law blogs and 5 blawgs.

My non-blawgs are:
Michelle Malkin

I’m a mother, wife, blogger, conservative syndicated columnist, author, and Fox News Channel contributor.

Dooce

“My name is Heather B. Armstrong. Some of you may remember me as Heather B. Hamilton. I am married to a charming geek named Jon. We live in Salt Lake City, Utah, with our four-year-old daughter, Leta Elise, and our six-year-old SuperMutt, Chuck, and a ten-month-old miniature Australian Shepherd, Coco. The chaos in our house is unreal.”

Brandon’s “The Black Lounge”

I’m a fairly normal 21 year old guy navigating his way through college, a job, goofy ass friends and a somewhat normal yet dysfunctional family. I’m a Civil Engineering major at Morgan State University here in my hometown of Baltimore, Maryland.

The SartoriaList – (Anyone who knows me knows that my fashion style is bootleg Sartorialist)

I started The Sartorialist simply to share photos of people that I saw on the streets of New York that I thought looked great. When I worked in the fashion industry (15 years), I always felt that there was a disconnect between what I was selling in the showroom and what I was seeing real people (really cool people) wearing in real life.

And of course, MoonGoons! And you thought Minneapolis didn’t have an indie scene…

Now, eh… I was going to list 5 blawgers but I can’t pick from the list. Before I started law school I found Divine Angst and Boy in Suit very informative…but really, any of the blawgs linked on No634 (if you’re reading this on facebook) are awesome. Visit them all.

**********

Edit: And I did not realize, until just now, that Fight the Hypo also tagged me in the same chain-post. (Which is further proof that the blawg world is probably too small for these things! It’s like plague striking a village…)

Info about Fight the Hypo:

Led by Dr. Bombay and Casebook Sherpa, Fight The Hypo introduces readers to the finer points of love, law, and life. They and their fellow contributors are first-year evening law students at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. We’re here simply to blog about life and law school, and develop friendships we hope will last well beyond graduation day (but probably not as long as it takes to pay off student loans… because, really, what friendship lasts that long?)

And, the bio of the instigator of all of this (at least for my involvement): New Law Mom

I grew up learning by living. I learned that mental illness causes family problems. I’m not sure if mental illness causes poverty or if poverty causes mental illness. I think it might work both ways. Until the past few years, it never occured to me to save myself; I applied all my energies to other people. I started by bringing home stray cats at a very young age, moved on to “saving” people, and ultimately adopted one very needy, critically ill, abused, traumatized young boy. He has changed my life, and if I have changed his, I am grateful. But I wasn’t able to save him. I can only pray he will save himself. I have lost one child, one husband, a beautiful home, and everything I thought mattered. I am alive, so I must live. If there isn’t a God, I am in trouble. But I believe there is. And I believe God intends for me to be a lawyer. So here I am. I hope I am up to the task.
